Norelco Cabinets Ltd., a locally owned and operated cabinet manufacturing company established in 1972 is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to join their team on a part-time basis. The HR Generalist position is a hands-on role where you'll serve as the primary point of contact for all HR-related matters for Norelco, handling a diverse range of responsibilities across the entire employee lifecycle. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Employee Relations & Compliance
-Provide support on employee relations issues, offering guidance and resolving concerns in a timely manner. Escalate complex matters to an external HR consultant as needed.
-Participate in workplace safety compliance, manage WorkSafe BC responsibilities, and ensure that all safety protocols are adhered to. Address any incidents and ensure that corrective actions are taken promptly. Recruitment & Onboarding
-Lead recruitment efforts for various roles. This may include job postings, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and coordinating with hiring managers.
-Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the company. Provide orientation sessions to introduce new employees to company policies, culture, and expectations. Documentation/Administration
-Manage the preparation, review, and implementation of employee agreements, including updates and changes. Assist in rolling out new agreements and policies, ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant.
-Manage the HR inbox, respond to employee inquiries, maintain accurate records, and ensure HR documentation is up to date. Training & Development
-Organize and conduct training sessions on HR topics and policies. Develop training materials and ensure all employees receive necessary education on compliance and company policies.
-Provide ongoing HR support to management, offering advice on best practices, policy interpretation, and employee performance management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, with a strong background as an HR Generalist leading and managing HR processes.
-Possession of a certificate, diploma, or degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field is an asset.
-Certified Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is an asset.
-Experience working with ADP HRIS an asset.
- Experience in payroll an asset.
-In-depth knowledge and experience with British Columbia employment legislation.
-Strong business acumen and the ability to understand organizational goals, enabling effective collaboration with leaders to address organizational, people, and change priorities.
-Proficient decision-making and problem-solving abilities, coupled with expertise in employee relations, people management, and training programs, fostering a positive work environment and addressing challenges proactively
-Proficiency in utilizing job posting channels, streamlining recruitment processes and maximizing candidate sourcing.
-Proven ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion, maintaining confidentiality and fostering trust within the organization.
-Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to adapt communication styles to suit diverse audiences.
-Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and a focus on accuracy
-Proficient in leveraging technology to enhance HR efficiency, utilizing tools and software to automate processes, analyze data, and streamline workflows.
Job Type: Part-time Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
